Kuwait to host Arab Ice Hockey Championship in May

KUWAIT, April 4 (KUNA) -- Kuwait will host the first edition of the Arab Ice Hockey Championship due on May 5-14.
Speaking at a news conference Tuesday evening, head of Kuwait Winter Games Club Fahid Al-Ajmi said the tournament would include eight Arab teams namely Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, Lebanon, Egypt, Algeria, Tunisia, along with Kuwait.
He added that Kuwait's team is preparing for the event with high morale after winning the bronze medal at the Ice Hockey World Championship concluded in Mongolia about one week ago.
The club is keen on organizing this Arab event to upgrade technical levels and boosting ties among the participating teams, he made clear.
Al-Ajmi lauded support of Minister of Information and Culture, and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi to host this tournament. (end) fs.msa.hm
