BRUSSELS, March 21 (KUNA) -- The European Commission Tuesday announced that it has paid a second installment of 1.5 billion Euros (USD 1.6 billion) financial assistance to Ukraine.
This support will help Ukraine to keep on paying wages and pensions and maintain essential public services running, such as hospitals, schools, and housing for relocated people, said the commission in a press release.
Today's payment comes after the EU's executive body said it found that Ukraine has made satisfactory progress towards implementing the agreed policy conditions aim to ensure the transparent and efficient use of the funds.
The first payment of 3 billion Euros (USD 3.2 billion) under this package was made in January this year.
The Commission will continue to disburse its financial support for Ukraine to the tune of 1.5 billion Euros per month throughout the rest of 2023. (end)
