BRUSSELS, Feb 2 (KUNA) -- President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, accompanied by 15 other EU Commissioners, including EU High Representative and vice president of the Commission Josep Borrell, is travelling to Kyiv, Ukraine, Thursday for a meeting with the Government of Ukraine.
"The visit is a strong symbol of the Commissionآ’s support for Ukraine in the face of Russiaآ’s unprovoked and unjustified aggression," said the EUآ’s executive body in a statement.
The meeting between the Commission and the Ukrainian Government will be an opportunity to exchange on the many areas of cooperation between the EU and Ukraine, and discuss the upcoming reconstruction as well as the countryآ’s European path, it said.
It is also an opportunity to deepen further cooperation with Ukraine, it added.
An EU-Ukraine summit will take place in Kyiv with the participation of President of the European Council Charles Michel and von der Leyen on Friday. (end)
