Sabalenka of Belarus wins Australian Open women's singles title

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 28 (KUNA) -- Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus on Saturday defeated Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina of Kazakhstan to win Australian Open women's singles title.
It took fifth seed Sabalenka two hours and 28 minutes to win the game to become the 29th player to be crowned the Australian Open women's title.
The final match has capped a couple of weeks of the competition during which she had beaten Tereza Martincova of Czech, Shelby Rogers of the US and Elise Mertens of Belgium. (end) aab.mt
