France, Iraq sign strategic partnership to boost bilateral ties

PARIS, Jan 27 (KUNA) -- France and Iraq signed Friday a strategic partnership in order to strengthen bilateral ties and establish a formal and permanent framework for the diverse and comprehensive relationship in various fields of cooperation, said French Presidency.
In a statement, the presidency noted that the agreement was signed on the sidelines of the official visit of the Prime Minister of Iraq, Mohammad Al-Sudani, to France on January 26 and 27 at the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron.
The two parties affirmed their commitment to continue the work of the Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership with the aim of implementing cooperation initiatives in the region, in partnership with their partners. (end) mo.aa
