Arab parliament denounces Israeli aggression on Palestinian refugee camp

CAIRO, Jan 26 (KUNA) -- The Arab Parliament on Thursday condemned, in the strongest possible terms, the bloody incursions by Israeli occupation authorities into the Palestinian city and refugee camp of Jenin earlier today, which left multiple casualties.
In a press statement, the parliament held the far-right Israeli government fully responsible for the current situation which would trigger off further tensions, violence and escalation.
It, further, urged the international community, the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), human rights organizations and Arab and European parliaments to take immediate action to stop escalation at Jenin refugee camp and provide international protection for the disarmed Palestinian people.
The parliament regretted that the apparent impunity has emboldened the Israeli occupation authorities to commit further crimes in blatant defiance of international law and legitimacy.
Nine Palestinians, including an old woman, were killed and 20 others injured in an Israeli aggression on Jenin refugee camp earlier Thursday. (end) ms.mt
