Israeli gunfire kills Palestinian, injures six in S. Bethlehem

RAMALLAH, Dec 5 (KUNA) -- A young Palestinian was killed and six others injured by Israeli gunfire in incursions launched by Israeli occupation forces at Al-Deheisha Camp in south Bethlehem on Sunday morning, according to the Health Ministry.
"Omar Fararja, 22, fell martyred as he was hit with the bullets of occupation forces in his chest, while six others were injured and already taken to hospital," the ministry said in a press statement.
Eyewitnesses said Israeli occupation forces advanced into Al-Deheisha Camp and launched crackdown and search operations, prompting young Palestinians to respond by pelting them with stones.
The occupation forces fired live and rubber bullets at young Palestinians and arrested three of them, according to eyewitnesses.
The number of Palestinian martyrs killed in Israeli shootings since the beginning of this year has risen to 212, including 160 from the West Bank and 52 from the Gaza Strip, the Palestinian Health Ministry said in recent statistics. (end) nq.mt
