KUWAIT, Nov 29 (KUNA) -- Kuwait, namely the leadership and the people of the country, has devoted special care for memorizing the Quran and supporting and encouraging the verses' memorizers, the Minister of Justice Abdulaziz Al-Majed said on Tuesday.
Al-Majed, also the Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and Minister of State for Boosting Nazaha (integrity) was speaking in a statement addressed on his behalf by the Awqaf Secretary General Sagr Al-Sejari during a ceremony for declaring winners of the 25th edition of Kuwait Quran Grand Contest award, sponsored by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
Up to 2,222 contestants took part in the latest competition. And, up to 232 memorizers won the award in addition to 20 institutions. (end) dd.rk
