MOSCOW, Nov 2 (KUNA) -- Russia on Wednesday said it will continue its participation in a landmark UN-brokered deal that allowed vital grain exports from Ukraine to reach world markets, just days after abandoning the pact.
"The Russian Federation considers that the guarantees received at the moment appear sufficient, and resumes the implementation of the agreement," the Russian defense ministry said in a statement.
Moscow's about-face comes after extensive talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan, while the Kremlin's decision to rejoin the deal will allay concerns over a global food crisis. (end)
