Japan condemns Iranian attack on Iraq Kurdistan

TOKYO, Sept 29 (KUNA) -- Japan on Thursday strongly condemned Iran's attacks on Kurdistan region, north Iraq, including multiple rocket launches that resulted in deaths and many injuries this week.
"We strongly condemn these attacks, which threaten the sovereignty and stability of Iraq and the peace of the entire Middle East region, and greatly deplores the loss of life," Foreign Ministry Press Secretary Hikariko Ono said in a statement.
"Japan will continue to support the efforts of the Iraqi government to ensure peace and stability in Iraq, including in the Kurdistan region," said the spokeswoman.
According to the Japanese Foreign Ministry, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran has announced that it has carried out this attack on Iranian-Kurdish opposition groups in the Kurdish region. (end) mk.gb
