CAIRO, Sept 29 (KUNA) -- The Somali security forces said Thursday that more than 40 of Al-Shabab militants were killed in military operations in the central Hiran province.
The terrorist Al-Shabab militia, linked to Al-Qaeda, is frequently losing in its desperate fight against the national armed forces, according to the state-run news agency (SONNA).
The Somali cabinet praised in its weekly meeting, headed by Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre, the military operations executed by national arm and its achievements in demolishing Al-Shabab "terrorist" militias.
The cabinet decided to establish an effort-coordinating committee to counter terrorism and rename the "department of countering radical thought" to the "National Agency to combat radical thought," SONNA added. (end) rg.maa.aai
