KUWAIT, Sept 27 (KUNA)

1976 -- An earthquake that measured 3.8 degrees on the Richter scale hit Kuwait's Southeast Ahmadi area.
1986 - Kuwait stock exchange's trading hall was inaugurated.
1990 - Kuwait Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah received a standing ovation after delivering a sensational speech before the UN General Assembly following Iraq's invasion and occupation of the State of Kuwait.
1990 -- Kuwait Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah announced at the UN writing off interests of all loans to developing countries to alleviate their economic burden.
2000 -- UN Security Council approved USD 15.9 billion in compensation for the State of Kuwait for damages inflicted upon the oil industry due to the Iraqi invasion and occupation of Kuwait in 1990-91.
2010 -- Kuwait Disabled Sport Club elected president of the West Asia Paralympic association for four years.
2012 -- Kuwait Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah announced a USD 500 million pledge for Yemen for the coming three years.
2016 -- Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) signed a USD 20 million-grant agreement with Jordan to finance projects for the Syrian refugees in the Kingdom.
2018 -- Renowned poet Mubarak Al-Hudaibi passed away at age of 72.
