RIYADH, Sept 25 (KUNA) -- Qatar Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz held talks on boosting ties at the Amiri Diwan on Sunday.
Sheikh Tamim expressed hope that the German Chancellor's visit would contribute to bolstering relations between the two countries towards wider perspective on all levels, mainly economy and investment, Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported.
Meanwhile, Scholz said he looks forward to strengthening cooperative ties between the two countries in a way that meets common aspirations, it added.
The talks also covered means of boosting strategic ties in energy, military cooperation, culture, sports, in addition to the most outstanding issues and regional and international happenings, it said.
The agency indicated that Amir Tamim and Scholz held a bilateral meeting during which they shared views on some regional and international issues of common concern.
The repercussions of the Ukrainian crisis and its impacts on peace and security in the world topped the meeting between the two sides, the agency pointed out.
Scholz's visit to Qatar is part of his tour to the Gulf that began Saturday in Saudi Arabia and the UAE earlier today. (end) mdm.hm
