RIYADH, Sept 18 (KUNA) -- Council of Arab Central Banks and Monetary Authorities' Governors meeting goes in parallel with global political and economic digressions, Governor of the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) Dr. Fahad Al-Mubarak said on Sunday.
His remark came at the opening of the 46th ordinary session of the Council in Jeddah with the attendance and participation of Governor of the Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK) Basel Al-Haroon.
Such developments coincide with a post-COVID-19 economic recovery, which was possible due to governments' efforts in combatting the pandemic through either stimulus packages or direct financial support, noted Dr. Al-Mubarak.
The two-day session with address impacts of the global inflation wave, climate change and its effect on financial sectors, as well as challenges facing the banking sector, he noted.
This session will also witness a high-level workshop on cryptocurrencies for central banks. (pickup previous)
