Truss meets heads of state ahead of Queen's funeral

LONDON, Sep 18 (KUNA) -- UK Prime Minister Liz Truss will continue on Sunday to meet with heads of state and government attending the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II to be held on Monday.
Prime Minister Truss will meet with her counterparts from Canada - Justin Trudeau, and Ireland - Michael Martin, as well as Polish President Andrzej Duda, according to statement from her office.
This was confirmed following BBC report that Truss was scheduled to meet US President Joe Biden earlier today after his arrival last night.
The sources also mentioned the meeting will be re-scheduled for next week, on the sidelines of the conference in New York of the UN General Assembly.
According to Buckingham Palace, King Charles III will meet with the Commonwealth heads of state, which will also be attended by PM Truss.
Yesterday, Truss had met her Polynesian peers Anonthy Albanese of Aussieland and New Zealander Jacinda Ardern.
UK had issued more than 500 personal letters by virtue to world leaders, government representatives as well as monarch families, for the solemn funeral of the Late Queen Elizabeth II. (end) mrn.aq
