Kuwait Oil Ministry participates in 4th meeting of Gulf Petroleum, Gas Committee

KUWAIT, Aug 11 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Oil Company participated Thursday, in the fourth meeting of the GCC Petroleum and Gas Committee held via virtual video technology.

The Ministry took part in the meeting with a team from the technical affairs program and the public relations department, headed by the Director of Public Relations and Information at the Ministry of Oil Sheikha Tamadher Khaled Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
A statement by the ministry said that the meeting was chaired by the advisor at the Saudi Ministry of Energy Farid Al-Asali, who referred to the approval of all items on the agenda, the statement added.
The meeting reviewed the proposals of the State of Kuwait regarding the petroleum media specialists committee were reviewed.
During the meeting, participants agreed on forming small working team to study the proposals of the State of Kuwait and to discuss the preparation for the Fifth Petroleum Media Forum in terms of the date of the meeting and the host country.
The ministry said its statement that the meeting also discussed updating and reviewing the special strategy of the GCC Petroleum and Gas Committee according to what mentioned in the five- year plan.
The meeting decided that Kuwait would update the strategy and then send it to the General Secretariat to circulate to the member states to express their opinions on the updates.
The Ministry stated that the meeting discussed the results of cooperation between the GCC General Secretariat and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia after their meeting on April 10 at the Secretariat headquarter, which stressed the importance of focusing on energy security, economic development and climate change.
Kuwait Oil Ministry called the GCC countries to encourage their oil and gas ministries and its petroleum companies to participate in the ministry's competition on digital transformation (Hackathon 2022) through presenting at least three projects for each country in the fields of digital transformation and latest industrial practices.(end) km.ht.nhq
