Jagdeep Dhankhar takes oath as 14th Vice President of India

NEW DELHI, Aug 11 (KUNA) -- Former Governor of West Bengal Jagdeep Dhankhar took the oath of office on Thursday as the fourteenth Vice President of India and Chairman of Rajya Sabha (Upper House of Parliament).
The Vice President's Secretariat said in a statement that Dhankhar was administered the oath of office by recently elected President Droupadi Murmu in a swearing-in ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi. Dhankhar, a renowned lawyer and former West Bengal Governor, had won in the indirect election held on August 6 bagging 74.3 percent of the votes as the ruling Bhartiya Janata Party candidate.
