MADRID, Aug 10 (KUNA) -- Real Madrid defeated Eintracht Frankfurt 2-0 in the final of the 2022 UEFA Super Cup, the 47th edition of the championship, at Helsinki Olympic Stadium in the capital of Finland, on Wednesday.
David Alaba scored the opener in the 37th minute and Karim Benzema doubled the lead nearly half an hour later, in the 65th minute.
Both goals secured Real Madrid's win of the trophy for a record-equaling fifth time.
Benzema, scoring his 324th goal for European champions Real Madrid, became second on Real's goal-scoring list behind Cristiano Ronaldo who boasts a 450-goal tally. (end)
