Kuwait human rights office stresses specialty in handling women's issues

KUWAIT, Aug 9 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's human rights office on Tuesday emphasized the need to appoint specialists in dealing with women's-related matters, saying such a measure would provide support for women victimized by domestic violence.
The remarks came in a statement by Kuwait's National Diwan for Human Rights, which cited a visit by the office's staff to a local center providing care for women who have been victims of domestic violence.
These centers need to ensure the appointment of qualified staff members who all well-versed in women's related issues, added the statement, underlining the need for more cooperation across state bodies as part of efforts to provide primary care for the inhabitants of such facilities. (end) ays.nam
