Jordan calls for an immediate halt to Israeli aggression on Gaza

AMMAN, Aug 5 (KUNA) -- The Jordanian Foreign Ministry stressed on Friday the necessity for an immediate halt to the Israeli aggression on Gaza Strip, calling on the international community to take critical and effective action to stop this escalation and provide protection for innocent Palestinian people who under attack.
In a press statement, the ministry's spokesperson, Haitham Abualful, warned of the dangerous consequences of the Israeli escalation and terrorizing civilians, which would only increase tension and violence and deepen the environment of despair.
Abualful pointed out that the solution to the crisis in Gaza Strip lies in finding a real political horizon by returning to the negotiating table to achieve a just peace based on the two-state solution, lifting the unjust siege on the Strip, and promptly addressing the humanitarian needs in it, and respecting the rules of international law and resolutions of international legitimacy.
