Death toll jumps to 10 Palestinians in Israeli airstrikes on Gaza

GAZA, Aug 5 (KUNA) -- Israeli occupation forces continued its bombardment of several locations in Gaza Strip on Friday, which resulted in the death of 10 Palestinians and the injury of 55 others, according to latest figures.
The Israeli army said in a statement, "Special forces and army artillery attacked several military points in Gaza, and the Chief of Staff, General Avik Kohavi, instructed to move to a state of emergency, including the activation of operations room." Meanwhile, a number of Palestinian factions blamed fully the Israeli occupation for targeting the Palestinian people and military leaders.
Palestinian joint room (which brings together various armed military wings of the Palestinian factions) said in response to the martyrdom of the Commander of the northern region of the Islamic Jihad Movement (Al-Quds Brigades), Tayseer Al-Jabari, "We hold the Zionist enemy fully responsible for this miscalculated aggression, and this action will not go unnoticed." The groups added that such response is coming and in the manner determined by its leadership.
Earlier, at least eight Palestinians, including a 5-year-old girl, were killed and 44 others injured in the latest wave of Israeli air attacks on the besieged Gaza Strip. (Pickup previous) wab.mb
