Three grain ships leave Ukraine - Turkiye DM

ANKARA, Aug 5 (KUNA) -- Three more ships carrying grain and foodstuffs set out from Ukrainian ports on Friday under a recent grain deal, said the Turkish Ministry of Defense.
The first ship, Panama-flagged Navist, departed the port of Odesa for Ireland with 33,000 tons of grain, said the ministry in a statement, carried by Anadolu news agency.
The vessel will undergo inspection at the Joint Coordination Center in Istanbul before it continues to sail to its final destination, it added.
The second ship, Malta-flagged Rojen, left the port of Chornomorsk with 13,000 tons of grain for the UK, the ministry said, adding it will also be inspected by the Joint Coordination Center.
The third vessel, Turkiye-flagged ship Polarnet sailed from the port of Chernomorsk to the Karasu port in northwestern Turkiye, carrying 12,000 tons of grain, it added.
The UN, Turkiye, Russia and Ukraine signed a landmark grain deal on July 22 to reopen the three Ukrainian ports of Odesa, Chernomorsk and Yuzhny. (end) akw.mt
