GCC eyes deeper cooperation with Turkmenistan

KUWAIT, Aug 3 (KUNA) -- Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Dr. Nayef Al-Hajraf affirmed Wednesday importance of reinforcing cooperation with the Republic of Turkmenistan to serve the common interests.
This came after Al-Hajraf's meeting with Turkmenistan's Deputy Foreign Minister, Rasit Meredowm, in which the two signed a Memorandum of Understanding bolstering cooperation in fields of economics, trade exchange, energy security, water and food security, achieving stability and supporting sustainable development.
An official negotiations session was held between the two officials where they handled a number of regional and international issues in addition to the various and diverse opportunities of cooperation. (end) mah.aai
