Arab League echoes unwavering backing to One China Policy

CAIRO, Aug 3 (KUNA) -- The Arab League unswervingly backs China's sovereignty, territorial integrity and One China Policy, Assistant Secretary-General Ambassador Hosam Zaki said on Wednesday.
Zaki made the remark in a phone call with Chinese Ambassador in Cairo Liao Liqiang late Tuesday, who briefed him on the latest developments of Taiwan, the Cairo-based Arab bloc said in a statement.
He added that the league's Secretary-General Ahmad Abul-Gheit looks forward to a swift end to the Taiwanese crisis.
For his part, the Chinese ambassador underlined that the One Chinese Policy should be observed and any action inconsistent with relevant UN resolutions be avoided. (end) mfm.mt
