Egypt Pres. hopes for security, stability in Somalia

CAIRO, July 25 (KUNA) -- Egyptian President Abdul-Fattah Al-Sisi assured his country's to support to the efforts to strengthen peace and security in Somalia and eradicate terrorism to overcome the current challenges for a prosperous future.
During a joint press conference, with his Somali counterpart Hassan Sheikh Mahmoud, Al-Sisi called for long-drawn-out efforts to realign Somalia's role among the Arab unions and the African continent.
An exchange of observations on regional matters was prioritized during the meeting today, with an agreement reached on joint political efforts to promote security and stability as a strategic approach, explain Al-Sisi.
Adding, discussions also included the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam file, confirming that both sides are concerned for chancy political acts when undertaking projects of this magnitude on international rivers on this scale.
The importance of an agreement based on the 2021 UN's Security Council approvals was also emphasized to activate the project in a safeguarded manner, also covered during the meet.
The efforts are also directed to better the economy of Somalia by fueling the needs of education sectors as well as all other fields and combating terrorism.
