CAIRO, July 5 (KUNA) -- The Arab League, marking the Arab Youth Day 2022 on Tuesday, called on the governments of its member states to pay more attention to the role of youth in the development of their communities and the realization of the UN-sponsored Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for 2030.
The youth have to play a greater role in the decision-making process and building the future of their countries, the League said in a statement.
The Arab Youth Day, celebrated on July 5, provides an opportunity for raising new initiatives and programs for giving full play to the enterprising spirit of talented youth and helping them contribute to the development of the Arab region, it pointed out.
Tapping into the energies of the youth is the key to solving all problems and addressing all challenges in the Arab world, the statement went on.
The League renewed support for the creative potentials of the youth, noting that it worked out programs for activating their participation in socio-economic development.
The League will launch a new strategy for youth, peace and security and a strategy for youth and sports, according to the statement. (end) mfm.aff.gb
