Revenue of Egypt's Suez Canal hits highest records

CAIRO, July 4 (KUNA) -- Egypt's Suez Canal revenue reached USD 7 billion, the highest rate of income in the waterway's history, over 20 percent compared with the previous year, Head of the Suez Canal Authority (SCA) Osama Rabie stated Monday.
Admiral Rabie affirmed that navigation statistics showed huge records during this current period.
However, 15.7 ships passed through both directions of the canal, which is considered a 20 percent increase, he added.
The Admiral stressed that these impressive records reflect the flexible strategy of SCA in attracting new navigation lines according to global needs. (end) ra.sma.mah
