KUWAIT, June 30 (KUNA)

1946 -- State of Kuwait exported the first crude oil shipment for commercial use on board British Fusilier Tanker from Ahmadi Port.
1968 -- The Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah signed a monetary law about the Central Bank of Kuwait and banking, specifying that issuance of national currency, Dinar and Fils, was a whole right of the State. He also established CBK with a mandate of issuing and maintaining stability of the currency, as well as monitoring the banking sector.
1980 -- The Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah signed a decree over the protection of fish resources in territorial waters.
1997 -- Al-Arabi Sporting Club won Kuwait Football Association's (KFA) League after beating Al-Nasr SC 1-0.
1999 -- The State of Kuwait and China signed an agreement to establish a Consulate General in Hong Kong after the territory was handed back to China.
2001 -- Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) opened an office in St. James district in London.
2002 -- Kuwait Government approved establishment of the Gulf University for Science and Technology (GUST) with a capital of 10 million Kuwaiti Dinars (KD). GUST, the first private university in Kuwait, could house 1,500 students.
2005 -- George Washington University awarded the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah an honorary doctorate degree in recognition of his public service.
2010 -- Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) offered a KD eight million loan to Djibouti to finance construction of a 110-kilometer-road named after Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
2010 -- Director of Food Resources and Marine Sciences Department at Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research, Dr. Samira Al-Sayyed Omar, was elected vice-chairperson of an Executive Council of the woman organization for development countries.
2014 -- Kuwait parliament approved indemnity for public sector employees and military personnel.
2015 -- Kuwait parliament approved two bills to establish the Public Authority for Sport and Public Authority for Youth.
2015 -- Playwright and producer Mohammad Al-Rushood passed away at age of 65.
2020 -- Work resumed in ministries and government departments following a suspension that began on March 12 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
2021 -- Kuwait's first satellite QMR-KWT (Moon of Kuwait) has took off into space on aboard SpaceX Falcon 9 from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in the State of Florida. (end) gta
