DOHA, June 28 (KUNA) -- Qatari Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani on Tuesday received the visiting UAE National Security Adviser Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, discussing regional and international issues of joint concern, the offficial Qatar News Agency (QNA) said.
Sheikh Tamim also discussed with Sheikh Tahnoun, who was accompanied by officials, means of boosting the brotherly bilateral relations, QNA added.
At start of the audience, Sheikh Tahnoun conveyed greetings from UAE President Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, and Deputy UAE President, Prime Minister and Dubai Ruler Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashed Al-Maktoum.
The Qatari Amir reciprocated, requesting that his salutes be conveyed to the UAE president and the latter's deputy.
Qatar and the UAE are member states in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), founded in the early 80s of the past century to cement inter-Gulf ties and cooperation at various levels and shield the regional Arabian states against external threats.
The GCC also includes Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Oman. (end) nnd.rk
