World leaders to approve enhancing NATO's force in Spain summit
MADRID, June 28 (KUNA) -- The 32nd NATO Summit will kick off in Spain on Tuesday, at a "critical" time as the organization called it, in the light of the war in Ukraine.
The summit, attended by 41 delegations of world and government leaders, will announce the NATO's new Strategic Concept for the next decade, at the meeting's conclusion next Thursday.
Meanwhile, the attendants will discuss enhancing NATO's defense mechanism and keeping the alliance ready to respond to danger at all times.
Speaking on this matter in a press conference on Monday, NATO's Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said the alliance will increase its soldiers from 40,000 to 300,000 to face the growing Russian threat against Europe.
The summit will also discuss keys topics including sustaining support for Ukraine, reinforcing partnerships and maintaining an open door policy, adapting to threats and challenges from any direction and transatlantic unity and alliance solidarity. (end) hnd.ag
