KUWAIT, June 24 (KUNA)

1904 -- Kuwait's 7th Ruler Sheikh Mubarak Al-Sabah approves appointment of Stuart Knox, the first British Political Agent, arriving in Kuwait in August 1904.
1956 -- Kuwait Medical Mission heads to Saudi Arabia to accompany Kuwaiti Hajj Mission, the first mission offering health care for pilgrims, headed by Hamad bin Salem Al-Roumi and including 86 persons including four doctors.
1960 -- Kuwait Amir Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah signs a law regulating civilian air naviation.
1986 -- Four interpellation requests are submitted by different parliament members at the same time against Minister of Communication Essa Al-Mazidi, Minister of Finance and Industry Jassem Al-Kharafi, Minister of Oil Sheikh Ali Khalifa Al-Sabah and Minister of Education Dr. Hassan Al-Ibrahim. But, the requests are not discussed and the National Assembly is dissolved unconstitutionally on July 3.
1993 -- Hamad Yusuf Al-Roumi, Information Ministry's Assistant Undersecretary for Culture and Press and Undersecretary in 1990, passes away at age of 57. The deceased has many contributions to culture, arts and press.
2000 -- Kuwait company for the development of small enterprizes opens energies 2000 project to encourage youth start their own businesses.
2002 -- MPs Mubarak Al-Duwaila and Musallam Al-Barrak questions Minister of Finance and Minister of Planning and Administrative Development, Dr. Yusuf Al-Ibrahim about public funds and mismanagement of the national workforce law. A no-confidence request is submitted but the minister wins the house's confidence on a session held on July 3.
2002 -- Facilities Development Corporation signs an agreement with three local banks to finance waste water project in Sulaibiya. The KD 114.25 million agreement is signed with National Bank of Kuwait, Gulf Bank and Bank of Kuwait and the Middle East.
2005 -- Kuwait takes over rotating presidency of the Baord of Governors of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) until May 2006.
2008 -- Kuwait National Assembly approves a bill to establish a KD 500 million fund to help defaulters.
2010 -- A graduation ceremony iss held for 45 diplomats, the first class of Sheikh Saud Al-Nasser Diplomatic Institute.
2015 -- Kuwait, according to UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), comes first in the Middle East and 7th globally in terms of foreign investments.
2015 -- Kuwait parliament approves creation of the National Diwan for Human Rights.
2015 -- Kuwait parliament OKs establishment of shareholding companies to import domestic workers.
2018 -- Kuwait athletics team win 17 medals -- eight gold, eight silver and six bronze -- at Tunisia's athletics championship for the disabled.
2018 -- Mubarak Al-Hashash, a renowned writer for plays, TV and radio series, passes away at age of 70.
2019 -- Kuwait parliament approves draft laws about author's rights, public tenders, government universities and employment of former professors at Kuwait University and Public Authority for Applied Education and Training. (end) mt
