CAIRO, June 1 (KUNA) -- Egyptian President Abdelfattah Al-Sisi stressed, Wednesday, the importance of ending the presence of armed militias and extremist groups in Libya, which undermine the chances of achieving stability and peace.
This came during a meeting between the Egyptian president and the European Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement Policy Oliver Varhely, during which they agreed on the importance of accelerating the course of holding the Libyan elections, said the Egyptian presidential spokesman, Ambassador Bassam Radi, in a statement.
On the Renaissance Dam, President Al-Sisi affirmed the importance of this existential issue for Egypt and its people, stressing the firm Egyptian position in reaching a binding legal agreement on the rules for filling and operating the dam in accordance with the relevant international law.
