AMMAN, May 27 (KUNA) -- Jordan Royal Court on Friday announced the passing away of Faisal Sedqi al-Yasin - the father of Queen Rania and father-in-law of King Abdullah II, and declared a seven-day mourning as of today for his demise.
Al-Yasin was born in the Palestinian city of Tulkarm in 1934 and went to Egypt where he studied medicine.
After that, he headed to Northern Ireland to complete his specialty in surgery and pediatrics. Al-Yasin spent several decades in this profession. (end)
