KUWAIT, May 21 (KUNA) -- The Kuwaiti cyclist Latifa Al-Yassin on Saturday won the silver medal in the ongoing Kuwait-hosted Third GCC Sports Games, bringing number of silver trophies bagged by the Kuwaiti champions to three.
Al-Yassin came second in the individual time trial (ITT) women competition.
The UAE champions continued to snatch the gold medals, piling up to three in these competitions. The cyclist Saffia Al-Sayegh took the gold medal in the race held today on Sheikh Jaber Bridge, while the Saudi cyclist won the silver medal, the first to be garnered by the Saudi team.
The bike race proceeds on Sunday with a men's ITT competition.
The bike races have been held on Sheikh Jaber Bridge that snakes across Kuwait Bay -- one of the longest bridges globally. (end)
