Japan, S. Korea nuke envoys confirm coordination N. Korea

TOKYO, May 17 (KUNA) -- The chief nuclear envoys of Japan and South Korea agreed to continue close bilateral and trilateral coordination involving the Unites States (US) to resolve North Korean issues, Japan's Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday during their phone conversation.
The ministry said in a press release that the Director General of the Japanese Foreign Ministry's Asian and Oceanian Affairs Bureau Takehiro Funakoshi and the South Korean Foreign Ministry's Special Representative for Korean Peninsula peace and security affairs Kim Gunn, discussed the latest situation in North Korea, including COVID-19 outbreak and nuclear and missile activities.
