Blinken, NATO chief reiterate support for Ukraine - State Dept.

WASHINGTON, May 14 (KUNA) -- US Secretary of State Antony Blinken spoke Saturday NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg during which they reiterated their support for "the Ukrainian people and Ukraine's territorial integrity".
State Department Spokesperson Ned Price said in a statement that Blinken and Stoltenberg discussed "the importance of NATO maintaining strong deterrence and defense".
The statement added that they "deplored (Russian) President Putin's ruinous war in Ukraine".
The statement noted that "they conferred about preparations for the upcoming June 28-30 NATO Summit in Madrid, including the new NATO Strategic Concept document that will guide NATO for the next decade".
The US top diplomat Secretary is visiting Berlin, Germany to attend an informal meeting of NATO Foreign Ministers taking place on May 14-15. (end) si.mb
