Kuwaiti Parachutist wins in free skydiving with largest flag

KUWAIT, Feb 24 (KUNA) -- Founder of (Kuwait Skydive) and parachutist Ibrahim Al-Rubaian won in the free skydiving sport an unprecedented achievement by performing a jump from a height of 13,000 feet with the largest Kuwait flag stretching 800 square meters during the celebrations of national holidays in Kuwait.
Al-Rubaian, said in a press statement Thursday, that the jump with the largest flag in the sky of Kuwait, with dimensions of 40 meters in length and 20 meters in width, was successful as a result of training and the accurate technical preparations by professionals in Kuwait Skydive team for air shows, namely Salah Al-Yaqout, Nasser Al-Nasser, Moath Al-Abdullah and Salem Al-Jandal.
Al-Rubaian added such achievement was possible also due to the support of the technical team specialized in the sport of free jumping, indicating that this type of experiment requires advance preparation and cooperation from several technical bodies to register this event in the nation's history and by celebrating its 61st National Day and the 31st Liberation Day.
Al-Rubaian dedicated this achievement is dedicated to His Highness the Amir, His Highness the Crown Prince and to the Kuwaiti people, indicating that this leap is a qualitative addition to the history of Kuwaiti sports.
The parachuter also praised efforts exerted by the authorities supporting the sport of skydiving since its establishment. (end) my.mb
