(with photos) KUWAIT, Feb 23 (KUNA) -- Some Kuwaiti public institutions have already begun celebrating the national days, the day of independence and the liberation day, falling on February 25-26 respectively.
Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR) marked the forthcoming occasions with a celebratory gathering, involving the personnel and their families including youth.
For its part, the Public Authority for Minors Affairs celebrated the happy days at Jamal Abdulnasser public part in the district of Rawdha, where lecturers and banners brought into recollections sacrifices and great deeds of the ancestors.
The state authorities and associations have been preparing for the national days.
Kuwait Fire Force declared on Wednesday that it had finalized preparations for securing the celebrations, erecting 14 makeshift fire stations in all the governorates for rapid intervention in case unfortunate accidents happen.
Colonel Mohammad Ibrahim, the force public relations director, said in a press statement that all these stations had been staffed and equipped to deal with any mishap.
The force will help to ease off any traffic congestion that may occur during the celebrations and will partake in the activities by displaying its state-of-art equipment and engines, he said, urging revelers to equip their cars with fire extinguishers and abstain from tossing fireworks amid the celebrators.
Earlier today, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior marked the upcoming national occasions with a declaration, pardoning policemen who have been held in disciplinary cases. They will go free starting tomorrow Thursday.
An identical initiative was declared by the National Guard that said in a statement that the detainees would be released upon directions by the Guard Chief, His Highness Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah, and his deputy, Sheikh Ahmad Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. (end) ek.rk
