US allocates USD 10 mln for information on two Iranian cyber actors

WASHINGTON, Feb 1 (KUNA) -- The US Department of State announced Tuesday a USD 10 million reward for information regarding two Iranian cyber persons who tried to interfere in the 2020 US presidential election.
The U.S. Department of State's Rewards for Justice program is offering a reward of up to USD 10 million, a Department statement said.
"The Department seeks information on Iranian cyber actors Seyyed Mohammad Hosein Musa Kazemi and Sajjad Kashian - contractors employed by Iranian cyber company Emennet Pasargad - who participated in an Iranian state-sponsored, multi-phased online operation that attempted to interfere with the 2020 U.S. presidential election," it added.
Both individuals face sanctions and federal criminal charges in connection with their activities, it pointed out. (end) rsr.hm
