BAGHDAD, Jan 28 (KUNA) -- Missiles targeted earlier on Friday the Baghdad International Airport, resulted in the damage of an out-of-service civilian aircraft, said a ministerial statement.
According to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the media department of the Ministry of Transport indicated that the Iraqi airways confirmed the attack, which damaged the aircraft within vicinity of the airport.
The attack will not interrupt flights, added the statement.
On their part, the global coalition said in a statement that the Iraqi air defense system was in operation during the attack and intercepted a number of projectiles. (end)
