Militant attack kills 10 soldiers in SW Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, Jan 27 (KUNA) -- At least 10 soldiers of Pakistan army were killed in a terrorist attack on a check post in the southwestern Balochistan province.
The attack occurred in Balochistan's Kech district, according to a statement issued by media wing of Pakistan military Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Thursday.
"During intense exchange of fire, one terrorist was killed and several injured. While repulsing terrorists' fire raid, 10 soldiers embraced martyrdom," the statement said. Three terrorists had been apprehended in the follow-up clearance operation, which it said was still in progress to hunt down the perpetrators of the incident, it noted.
"The armed forces are determined to eliminate terrorists from our soil no matter what the cost," the ISPR statement added. Earlier last month, four soldiers of the Pakistan Army were killed in an exchange of fire with militants during a security operation in the Mir Ali area of North Waziristan tribal district.
