Arab Parliament warns of "dangerous" Houthi escalation against Saudi Arabia, UAE

CAIRO, Jan 24 (KUNA) -- The Arab Parliament on Monday warned of the "terrorist" Houthi Militia's "dangerous" escalation against Saudi Arabia and the Emirates.
The Arab Parliament stated in a statement: "It does not only threaten the security and stability of the two countries, but rather threats Arab national security in general and Gulf national security in particular." The Parliament strongly condemned the launch of two ballistic missiles earlier today against the UAE, which were intercepted and destroyed by the Emirati Defense Ministry, as well as the "brutal" attack on Saudi Arabia's Jazan City, with a ballistic missile that fell in the industrial area there.
This escalation poses a threat to regional peace and security, undermining Arab national security, and harming international peace and security, added the statement.
The Arab Parliament stands in full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and the UAE in any measures they may take to preserve their security and the safety of their citizens and residents.
The Houthi Militia's actions that target the stability of both countries and their citizens forms a blatant challenge to the international community, especially after the decisions of the UN Security Council and the Arab League Council, calling for designating Houthi Militia as a "terrorist organization".
The statement stressed that "terrorist Houthi militia attacks reflect its terrorist nature and reveal its real goals in destabilizing the security and stability of the region and its defiance to the rules of international law and international humanitarian law". (end) rg.seo
