Israeli Government agrees to renovate Al-Buraq wall

RAMALLAH, Jan 17 (KUNA) -- The occupying Israeli Government agreed on executing a plan to renovate the infrastructure of the Western Wall of Al-Aqsa mosque (Al-Buraq Wall) at a cost of USD 35 million.
According to the Israeli Hayom newspaper, the five-year plan presented by Prime Minister Naftali Bennett's office aims to increase the number of visits to the holy site by improving accessibility to public transportation, developing new educational programs and supporting existing development projects.
The Western Wall is visited by millions of people from around the world. Between 2015-2020, the number of visitors to the Western Wall grew from 10 million to 12 million, it noted.
The Israeli authorities are working to refurbish and change the Islamic milestones of the Western Wall, which is considered an Islamic endowment and a part of the Al-Aqsa mosque since 1967. (end) nq.bb
