Major events of 2021 in Palestine

KUWAIT, Dec 28 (KUNA) -- Here are the main events in the Arab world throughout 2021, we continue with Palestine.
PALESTINE:

Jan 15 : Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas signed a decision to hold early parliament elections on May 22nd and Presidential election on July 31.

Jan 19 : Israeli government gives permission to build hundreds of settlement units on the Palestinian lands that were occupied in 1967.

Feb 5 : International Criminal Court says it has jurisdiction over war crimes committed in the Palestinian territories, including the West Bank, East Jerusalem and Gaza. Feb 9 : About 14 Palestinian factions, at the conclusion of the national Dialogue in Cairo, reached an agreement on holding early parliamentary elections on May 22 , and presidential elections on July 31.

Feb 15 : Palestinian Health Ministry says Israeli forces blocked 2,000 doses of Russian (Sputnik) vaccine from entering the Gaza Strip.

Feb 22 : Palestinian Health Ministry receives 20,000 doses of Sputnik COVID-19 vaccine from the United Arab Emirates sent to Gaza Strip. Feb 22 : Gaza Strip launched a vaccination campaign against coronavirus, with healthcare workers taking the first shots.

March 1 : UN Relief and Work Agency for Palestine Refugees in Near East (UNRWA) allocates 131 schools to support the Palestinian Central Elections Commission and allow voters to make sure their names were registered to ensure their participation in the upcoming elections.

March 26 : Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's Likud party wins the parliamentary elections with 52 seats out of 120 in the Kensett.

March 30 : Palestinian Statistics institute says the year 2020 have witnessed a huge increase in Israeli settlements. April 7: the Palestinian presidency welcomed US administration decision to resume economic and humanitarian aid to Palestinian people.

April 30: Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas issues a presidential decree to postpone the elections, following the Israeli occupation authorities' blocking preparations for election in Jerusalem.

May 3: Clashes erupted in Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood, close to the old town in eastern Jerusalem, during protests in support of Palestinian families threatens of expulsion of their homes of which Jewish settlers claimed their possession.

 May 10: Israeli occupation forces storm in Al-Aqsa Mosque and attack Muslims performing prayers, injuring 350 Palestinians. May 10: Israel launched a wide assault on Gaza Strip and Palestinian fractions raid on Israeli cities with missiles.

 May 11: KRCS launched donations campaign, themed "With you Palestine," to the Palestinians being attacked by the Israeli occupation forces.

May 15: The International Journalism Institute strongly condemns an Israeli attack launched at international media offices in Gaza Strip, and considered it a violation to the human rights and international law.

May 19: Kuwait launched an urgent public relief campaign for Palestinian people as part of its commitment in supporting Palestinians, especially following the latest Israeli attacks.

May 20: Islamic Resistance movement (Hamas) announced reaching a ceasefire agreement through an Egyptian mediation, and stressing on abiding by the agreement as far as the Israeli side abides by it. May 20: Israel announced the death of 12 Israelis, and the injury of other 330, following the fall of 4,000 missiles in various parts of Israel during the Israeli attack on Gaza Strip.

May 24: Palestinian President Abbas stressed importance of an urgent action to a political path under the supervision of The Quartet on the Middle East to end the Israeli occupation, and work on the establishment of the Palestinian state, upon the international resolutions.

May 27: Kuwait medical relief convoy carries 85 tons of relief supplies and medical equipment to Gaza Strip crossing.

June 21 President Abbas called on Fatah and Hamas movements, as well as PLO, Islamic Jihad movement to resume serious dialogue in order to counter challenges facing Palestinian people national cause.

June 24: Palestinian Foreign Ministry condemns Honduras transferring its embassy to occupied Jerusalem, considering this step a blatant violation of the international law, and the United Nations resolutions, regarding the political and legal status of the city.

June 27: Tens of radical Israeli settlers storm Holy Al-Aqsa Mosque from Al-Magariba Gate, protected by Israeli occupation police.

June 28: EU Council Extends Mandates of Border Assistance Mission for Rafah Crossing and Police Mission for Palestinian Territories affiliated to the European Union (EU) until June 30 2022.

June 30: Kuwait relief convoy arrived to Gaza Strip including nine trucks, carrying food parcels and medical equipment for Palestinians affected by the latest Israeli hostile attack on the Strip.
July 3: Israeli forces killed an activist of the Palestinian mainstream organization Fatah only hours after Palestinian gunners attacked a settlement wounding four Jewish settlers.
July 18: Twenty-Three groups, (around 1,200 settlers) stormed the Al-Aqsa mosque, Omar Al-Kiswani, Director of Al-Aqsa Mosque said.
July 29: A Palestinian has died from his wounds hours after Israeli fire targeted him in Khalil town.
August 4: Israeli forces and warplanes targeted Lebanese territories in response to rockets that were targeting Israeli settlements.
August 6: One Palestinian killed, 37 injured in clashes with Israeli forces in Baita village, in the West Bank, hours after protests erupted due to establishing a new Israeli settlement.
August 11: Palestinian killed after confrontation with Israeli forces in Jenin town north of West Bank.
August 12: The Israeli army destroys a Hezbollah group drone, which crossed borders.
August 16: Palestinian presidency strongly condemns Israeli brutal crime in Jenin city, which resulted in killing four Palestinians.
August 16: the UN's Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) initiated its launching of its schools for the Palestinian students following the long precautionary halt due to COVID-19 conditions.
August 24: Palestinian child killed and a Palestinian youth arrested after Israeli forces raided Balata Refugee Camp in Nablus city.
August 25: Palestinian youth died from his wounds on the eastern Gaza Strip borders.
August 26: WAFA Director of Institute for Lamara Development and Capacity Development Mahasain Atawna said Kuwait's International Islamic Charity (IICO) launched a "Manara" project at the University of Palestine on the west bank of the Jordan River to help poor families and orphans, around 28 students will benefit from it.

August 29: Palestinian Prisoners Authority says Israeli occupation forces arrested 130 Palestinian women since the beginning of this year and until today, mostly in Jerusalem city.
August 31: Palestinian killed by Israeli fire west of Ramallah city.
Sept 6: Israeli media says six Palestinian prisoners were able to flee prison through digging a tunnel.
Sept 7: Palestinian POW Club said Israeli prison authority started retaliatory procedures against prisoners in response to the escaped Palestinian prisoners.
Sept 19: Israeli occupation forces re-arrested two fugitive prisoners, Ayham Kamamji and Munadhel Nafaiat, after storming Jenin city and raiding the house they were in at dawn.
Sept 22: Israeli authorities closed Al-Haram Al-Ibrahimi mosque to prevent Palestinians from praying there for a several days, according to Al-Ibrahimi Director Hafthi Abu-Snainah.
Sept 26: Death toll of Palestinians killed after Israeli incursions in Jerusalem and the West Bank increased to five, amid Palestinian factions calling for escalating resistance to confront Israeli ongoing aggression.
Sept 30: Palestinian man and woman killed by Israeli fire in West Bank.
Oct 6: A delegation from Kuwait Society for Relief concludes visit to West Bank after executing a number of humanitarian projects for Palestinians in need in various areas.
Oct 7: Dozens of Israeli settlers broke into Al-Aqsa Mosque's yard, under the protection of Israeli forces, one day after an Israeli court approved a decision to allow Jewish pray inside the mosque.

Dec 21: One Palestinian youth killed by Israeli fire in Babda town, south west of Jenin in the West Bank.
Dec 22: One Palestinian youth died after Israeli forces raided Sadah Marhaba area in West Bank.
