US House of Representatives passes USD 768-bln defense bill

WASHINGTON, Dec 8 (KUNA) -- The US House of Representatives approved Tuesday evening the USD 768-billion defense authorization bill.
The National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), passed by a vote of 363 to 70, heads next to the Senate for a vote before landing on President Joe Bidenآ’s desk to be signed into law.
The bill includes USD 300 million in military aid to the Ukrainian Security Assistance Initiative, USD 7.1 billion for the Indo-Pacific Deterrence Initiative and a provision to create a commission to examine the war in Afghanistan.
The bill authorizes USD 25 billion more than the budget requested by Biden. (end) si.mt
