PARIS, Nov 30 (KUNA) -- France on Tuesday reported 47,000 new COVID-19 infections over the past 24 hours.
"The situation is getting worse with the fifth wave of COVID-19", French Health Minister Oliver Veron said in statement in the Parliament.
He added that average number of infections is exceeding 30,000 daily, the harshest wave since the outbreak of the virus.
The minister demanded intensifying vaccination campaigns and taking the boosting shot, which may help in beating the current wave of coronavirus.
Veron also mentioned that more than 1,700 patients are languishing the ICUs. (end)
