BAGHDAD, Oct 26 (KUNA) -- Eleven people were reportedly killed and six others wounded in a terrorist attack in Al-Rashad village, Al-Miqdadiyah district, Diyala governorate, northeast Iraq, on Tuesday.
The police command of the governorate and government sources confirmed the incident without elaborating, according to the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
President Barham Salih denounced attack as "a despicable attempt to destabilize the country."
"The cowardly terrorist incident is a reminder of the need to unite ranks, support our security services and not underestimate the threat of Daesh," he wrote in a tweet, referring to the so-called Islamic State group (or IS). (end)
