UK condemns North Korean launch of new ballistic missile

LONDON, Oct 20 (KUNA) -- The UK condemned the launching of a new ballistic missile by North Korea, calling it a "violation" of the United Nations Security Council's (UNSC) resolutions.
In a press statement on Wednesday, British Minister of Asia Amanda Milling called on Pyong Yang to turn into dialogue and end its nuclear programs in a method that can be inspected by international officials.
She hailed the US' diplomatic efforts and cooperation with its regional partners to ensure security and stability in the Korean Peninsula. She added that the UK is fully committed to all initiatives aiming to make the peninsula a nuclear-free zone.
Yesterday, South Korea announced that the north had launched a missile from a submarine over the Sea of Japan. (end) kd.ag
