VEINNA, Sept 24 (KUNA) -- Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has lauded Kuwait's presidency of the 65th general conference of the agency over the past five days.
In statements to KUNA after the conclusion of the conference on Friday, Rafael Grossi said Kuwait was brilliant as usual in its presidency of the event.
Kuwait's representative has successfully moderated the different sessions of the conference, he noted.
Grossi hailed the outcome of the 65th general conference.
It has met the aspired goals through the fruitful cooperation between the presidency, member states and the general secretariat, he said, adding that the conferees have passed all the draft resolutions proposed during the gathering.
He thanked Kuwait's Ambassador to Austria and Permanent Representative to the IAEA Sadiq Marafi for his outstanding moderation of the conference sessions.
This is the first time Kuwait presides over the IAEA General Conference since joining the international agency five decades ago. (pick up previous) amg.ibi
