Ruling United Russia party wins parliamentary race

MOSCOW, Sept 20 (KUNA) -- The ruling United Russia party won the parliamentary elections, held over three days, the Central Election Committee announced Monday.
In a statement, it added the United Russia Party's candidates got 49.66 percent of total votes after counting 90 percent of ballots.
However, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation got 19.56 percent, followed by the Liberal Democratic Party with 7.51 percent, A Just Russia with 7.38 percent, and The New People got 5.33 percent of votes.
Fourteen political parties participated in the elections for the 450-seat Duma, the parliament's lower house.
